The film about Sergei Bondarchuk is neither a traditional portrait of the director's career nor a biopic celebrating his anniversary. Authors of the "Battle" focus on the post-war era in which the "War and Peace" movie creator became the key figure.
Ilya Belov
Ilya Belov is a Russian director, theatre and film actor. He was born in 1988. In 2009 he graduated from the Yekaterinburg State Theatre Institute. After graduation, he began working at the Sverdlovsk Academic Theatre, the Yekaterinburg Youth Theatre and the Perm Theatre "At the Bridge". In 2010 he began working at Kolyada Theatre. In 2009 he made his debut film Dead Track. Since 2015, he was shooting independent documentaries about the poet Joseph Brodsky, writers Sasha Sokolov and Vladimir Sorokin, director Sergei Bondarchuk.
